The advantages of this type of battery are huge. After 800 charging cycles, still 80% of initial capacity. NiMh batteries often fail after about 200 cycles. The service life is 2 to 4 times longer than standard NiMh batteries, for a very limited initial extra cost. We therefore give a 12-month warranty on these Li-ion batteries. iRobot only gives a 6-month warranty on the original batteries.
